Experienced designer with 18+ years ux/ui design, including 7 years as a UX practitioner and leader, bringing customer advocacy for B2B and retail-focused digital products.  I help businesses maximize their ROI by connecting them to their customers.  My approach is grounded in user research and proven design thinking principles.  

My approach is rooted in human-centered design, informed by qualitative and quantitative research methods, and driven by iterative design processes.

• Primary user experience designer for our award-winning Workforce Management Systems

• Principal product owner and head of product strategy for Design System and Component Library. 

• Spearheaded customer feedback program which reduced recruiting time from ~2 weeks to ~3 days.

• Collaborated with engineering on technical implementations for UI themes and components.

• Provided coaching and mentoring to senior designers.

Design Lead

• Lead Visual Designer for Unifocus’ highly rated mobile app. (4.6 out of 5 on iOS and Android as of Mar 2023)

• Implemented a robust usability testing process to leverage customer feedback.

• Provided guidance and mentorship of junior designers.

• Facilitated design critique workshops, and Lean UX product design workshops. 

Aug 2014 - Jun 2016

• Established design discipline within Unifocus.  Evangelized human-centered design to product owners and C-level execs.

• Conducted user testing and interviews, UX research, ideation, concept testing, mockups, and prototypes.

• Established a consistent implementation of UI analytics to leverage customer insights back into our products.

Software Developer

Sep 2011 - Aug 2014

• Provided technical design and developed front-end UI code for Flash / Flex / JavaScript-based applications. 

• Designed and developed a JQuery-based dashboard app with drag/drop support.

Senior Innovation Designer

Jun 2005 - Dec 2010

• Delivered product design, visual design, and information architecture for a travel-centric ecommerce portal meant to inspire travelers, called Experience FinderTM

• Coded pages in Flash ActionScript, built standalone components, mockups, prototypes, coded HTML & CSS mockups. 

• Built PHP-based internal tool for designers to manage large collection of coded mockups, including support for branding variations, status tracking, and more.  Reduced designer admin work from days to hours.
